As IT leaders look to address the needs of the digital enterprise, significant changes are being pushed onto legacy networking and security teams. When those teams are in lockstep and ready to change, SASE adoption is the logical evolution. But what happens when security teams want to modernize their tools and services, but networking teams remain committed to legacy SD-WAN or carrier technologies?

Next Gen Solution

Well Cato Networks is the solution for next generation seamless cloud services with Zero trust approach across the globe. Founded in 2015, Cato’s team led by Gartner has defined a new category in SSE, that aligns with the cyber security requirements for today’s world.

SASE serves as combination of SD-WAN with network security domain, with cloud access security brokers (CASB) firewall as a service (FWaaS), Secure Web Gateways (SWG), virtual private networking (VPN), data loss prevention (DLP) and  antivirus/malware inspection. Yet all the utilities delivered to you by a single cloud service Cato. We assist and support our clients in building complex network security services availing Cato SASE expanded to Secure Access Service Edge.

SSE is the half of Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) focusing on the convergence of security services; networking convergence forms the other half of SASE.

SASE SD-WAN functions may include traffic prioritization, WAN optimization, converged backbones and self-healing using artificial intelligence platforms AIOps to improve reliability and performance.

Why SASE can replace legacy networks
  1. Organizations can maintain their MPLS services by linking the Cato Socket, which is Cato’s Edge SD-WAN device, to both the MPLS network and the Internet. All Internet traffic undergoes inspection and policy enforcement in the Cato Cloud.
  2. Organizations transition from MPLS to the Cato SASE Cloud, which features a private global backbone comprising 65+ Points of Presence (PoPs) connected through multiple SLA-backed network providers. The PoPs employ software that continuously monitors latency, packet loss, and jitter, dynamically selecting the optimal route for each packet in real-time. Security enforcement can occur within the Cato SASE Cloud or using existing edge firewall appliances.

WAN and security functions are typically delivered as a single service at dispersed SASE points of presence (PoPs) located as close as possible to users, branch offices and cloud service. In this approach edge locations or users (known as SDP user) connect to the closest available PoP to access the backbone. We aspire to offer our clients fast, low-latency WAN performance for long-distance PoP-to-PoP connections.

One of the many benefits include less complexity, universal access, performance, security and cost effective. Seems interesting? Get in touch with us to help you and your enterprise grow to become cyber security resilient.
